Answer: He believed that his bullpen (especially Marmol) would do better. Also, he was thinking ahead that Zambrano is most likely pitching on Sunday and with the cramping he has had lately, he really thought that he could rely on the bullpen more. Marmol is a phenomenal pitcher, but he just had a bad night. He is a kid who has never been to the off season before. If we would have a better offense not one person would question Lou for pulling Zambrano when he did.
