Did you ever think that your anger at Alex Rodriguez is basically just jealousy?

Question: Our society rewards certain types of people with a certain economic status. Although you may not think that it is fair, the Entertainment field will always draw high rewards for those that are participating in said field. Alex Rodriguez (Not A-Rod. A-Rod is a nickname. Nicknames are for friends. Alex Rodriguez is NOT a friend) is the best baseball player in the world. Baseball draws in a tremendous amount of revenue. He deserves a large cut of a teams revenue. I personally think the Yankees should give this young man $250 million plus, because they would still make a profit. If you do not like him personally, that is your right. You are probably too busy drinking beer to really analyze the situation. However, please study the whole issue first before making that kind of judgement public.

Answer: Interesting question. If I were to be jealous of Alex Rodriguez, I'd be jealous of *every* major league player, because all of them make more money than I do. They're also more talented at the game than I am. There's no doubt he's the most talented player in the game right now. He also has a huge ego, and works with an agent who wants to wring every dollar out of his team -- which are the reasons why he's so disliked right now. The Yankees have made their decision not to deal with him, as have the Mariners and Rangers, which speaks a great deal about what they think of him. If my team had a gaping hole at shortstop or first base (he's not a particularly good fielder at third) and his salary demands could be fit in my budget, I'd certainly look at him. Otherwise, the financial issues speak louder.
